Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act requires and thereby ensures that the employer provides and maintains a work environment that is free of OHS risks and at all times is a safe environment for employees.

JH offers comprehensive health, safety, and environmental consultancy services to our clients in order for them to comply with all aspects of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993) and relevant regulations.

Health and Safety Consultancy Services Offered:

1. Risk Assessments:

JH will perform baseline, issue-based, and continuous risk assessments on construction sites, factories, office buildings, retail stores, warehouses, and more. This ensures safe work procedures are established and communicated to employees.

All risk assessments will be performed in accordance with relevant internal procedures as per the required needs of the client.

2. Incident / Accident Investigations:

All incidents, whether near misses or actual reportable events, should be investigated. Near miss reporting and investigation allow you to identify and control hazards before they cause more serious incidents. JH can offer this service when appointed as consultants or when the need arises.

A health and safety audit focuses on some or all aspects of health and safety. It reviews whether regulations, applicable legislation, company policies, and recognized good practice are implemented and complied with.

4. Method Statement / Safe Working Procedures Development:

A work method statement, sometimes referred to as a safe work method statement or SWMS, is part of a workplace safety plan. It gives specific instructions on how to safely perform a work-related task or operate plant/equipment.

A Safety, Health, and Environmental Gap Analysis helps companies understand their current SHE programme, identify gaps, and prepare for inspections.

  • Facility safety inspection to observe actual SHE-related work practices and controls.
  • Employee interviews with key individuals involved in SHE at different levels.
  • A written report with deficiencies, exceptions, and action items for ongoing compliance.
